This Tutorial is a guide to installing PlugIns into Corel Paint Shop Pro X2, using an Installation Wizard. For the purpose of this Tutorial I am using Alien Skin, Eye Candy 4000, however the same procedure would also apply to other such filters as, Xenofen, other Alien Skin Filters, Filters Unlimited etc.
Ok :o) First you need to 'Extract' the '.exe' file to your Desktop.
Make sure that you have saved anything you were working on and then 'Close' PSPX2.
Double Click on the .exe file and you should get a popup box as shown below or similar
Click 'Next' as shown above
You will now see the 'Licencse Agreement' once you have read through this and you agree, click on the 'Accept' button
Next you will see the "read Me" Text
Click Next once you have finished reading through
Now you will see a screen as shown below (or similar if you are installing a different PlugIn)
Complete the necessary information and click "Next"
Ok here comes the part that causes some confusion, choosing the "Destination Directory".
Make sure that C:\ on the screen shot is the same on your screen.
Now double click on "Program Files" this will give you a list of all your Programs
Find "Corel" and double click it.
You should have 2 folders, the first should be "Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2" and the second is the Setup files.
Double click on "Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2"
Scroll down until you find the "Languages" Folder
Double click on "Languages" and find "EN"
Double click on the "EN" and look for your *PlugIns Folder
Make sure the word PlugIns is Highlighted and click "Next"
Finally when you see the Screen below click the "Finish" Button and thats it :o)
* If, like me you cannot see a Folder labelled PlugIns you will need to cancel the installation, then go to "My Computer" Double click on C: Drive find your Program Files Folder and double click it to open then find the "Corel" Folder and double click, double click on the folder called "Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2"when it opens find the "Languages" folder double click it go to the folder called "EN" and double click it then finally go to File in the tool bar at the top, find "NEW" in the drop down menu and choose Folder, and name the folder PlugIns. Close the Window and run the plugin .exe following the instructions above.
